Eye Health Evaluation
There are two main components to a well done comprehensive eye examination. The first is testing vision through the use of lenses. This is the part of the exam that most people are familiar with. Our comprehensive set of testing goes beyond “which is better one or two?” and includes computerized automated estimates of your prescription as well as measurements of corneal curvature, eye coordination, and eye focusing abilities. These are essential to having a successful prescription and the best possible vision.
The second component of the exam is perhaps the most important but less well recognized by many people. It involves several diagnostic eye health tests some of which you may not have experienced before. Many eye diseases have little outward symptoms that would be noticed by a person until the disease is well progressed. It is important that these problems are watched out for yearly even if your vision seems like it has not changed. During the course of the eye health evaluation we watch for the presence of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts as well as the influences of diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, and high cholesterol. This is important to ensure you continue to have good vision as well as good health into the future.
Treatment of Eye Disease
If you are diagnosed with an eye disease during your examination you want only the best treatment available to get your eyes as healthy as they can be. At Clear Vision Eye Centers we offer only the best. Based on your diagnosis we may recommend a wide variety of approaches including improved nutrition, prescription medicines, vision exercises, or surgical procedures. We also communicate pertinent findings to your primary care physician to ensure they are aware that the problems they are treating may be having an impact on your eyes or vision.
Good Eyecare Begins With A Yearly Eye Exam
Although many do not realize it, the best way to protect your vision is with a yearly eye checkup. Even a basic eye exam can detect vision and health-threatening conditions such as tumors, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid related problems, and auto-immune diseases. At Clear Vision Eye Centers, the basic checkup is brief and painless.
